It is with great pride that I announce Long Beach Food Scene Week 2026 will kick off Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 10. And, with it, will feature the city’s best restaurants, cafes, and pop-ups as—for the first time ever—we have over 100 spaces that have confirmed their participation for the fourth iteration of the annual celebration.
Even more, we have a ton of new spaces joining this year for the first time: Homareya. Colossus. Nick’s. Stormburger. Hey Brother Baker. Viaje. Massimo’s. Proudly Serving. Brother’s Keeper. Steelhead Coffee. Anna’s Pizza Joint. OBRA Hand Bakery. Second Owl. Appu’s Cafe. Cyclops Coffee. Buen Provecho. Let’s Yolk About It. Lima CebecherĂa Peruana. Waldo’s Pizza. Seaside Creamery. Royal Indian Curry House. SALA. Bubu’s Restaurant. The Modern… We even have multiple legacy restaurants participating for the first time, including Joe Jost’s and Naples Rib Company.
It will be a LBFSW unlike any other—and to be a part of it is both humbling and uplifting.

Wait—so what exactly is Long Beach Food Scene Week?
Launched in 2023, Long Beach Food Scene Week is a ten-day, joyful celebration of our city’s rich and diverse culinary scene, honoring the resilience and creativity of the hospitality industry while also highlighting the many great restaurants throughout the city.
This isn’t about discounts or deals—though some may be offered at places—but chefs and restaurateurs flexing their culinary muscles. During Long Beach Food Scene Week, diners will have the opportunity to experience our city’s top restaurants in ways they aren’t able to on the regular.

Some restaurants will use the week to flex and experiment, testing out new dishes (like the much-loved torta from Sonoratown last year). Others will come with an entirely new prix fixe menu (Ammatoli, Sky Room, The Attic, Bar Becky, Cali Chilli, Marlena, Black Pork, and Broken Spirits all did last year). Some will bring back much-loved items (like the smoked brisket noodle bowl that Phnom Penh Noodle Shack brought with Battambong BBQ last year, which will return for 2026). Others might go the collaborative route (like The 4th Horseman’s “Terrible Pizza” collab with Terrible Burger last year)…
The central point is to drive diners toward these spaces during August, where restaurants often see their lowest sales.
We are, unfortunately, losing some participants this year…
The first and most notable missing space on the list is obviously Gemmae Bake Shop, which has been a participant each year (with Long Beach Food Scene Members loudly hoping they would bring their pata dish from last year back). But the reason is completely valid: They are in the middle of constructing their brand-new Bixby Knolls location, and, in the words of owner Catherine Tolentino, they do not want to further overwhelm their already overwhelmed staff.
Also missing are the spaces we’ve lost across the past year, notably Michael’s on Naples (but we now have Massimo’s, thank the pasta gods), Union at the Compound (which closed following an abrupt shuttering of the entire art-meets-food project), The Social List (which is now rebranded as Dolores), Wood & Salt (which has now become Bixby Provisions), I Luv Ur Buns, and The Pastry Club.

Long Beach Food Scene Week 2026 is about more than just the food.
Even, more Long Beach Food Scene Week is more than just a celebration of food; it is also an opportunity to support the hospitality industry’s recovery from the tumultuous past few years—including this past year, which has seen an array of closures.
During this week, I am committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of hospitality workers, aiming to work with potential partners in order to provide them with resources and training to help them cope with burnout and stress, along with hosting a hospitality appreciation event thanks to the support of Baby Gee Bar.
With 80 participating restaurants thus far, Long Beach Food Scene Week promises to be a highlight of Long Beach’s culinary calendar, along with being a resource. Its website will have a complete directory of every restaurant participating to become a resource for restaurants and patrons across the city.
