Despite getting the name wrong, Long Beach Coast—the city’s upcoming professional baseball outfit—has got the beer right. Trademark Brewing is the official concessionaire for the team, bringing “Trademark beer, ballpark eats, and Long Beach hospitality to the stadium all summer long,” according to the Trademark team.

First home field game? June 2, when Trademark will be hosting a watch party.

Signage for DTLB’s Pinkberry has been taken down, and equipment has been moved out after months of wonky hours and abrupt temporary closures. According to the Instagram account DTLB Accountability, the space has permanently shuttered after nearly 20 years of calling the Broadway location home.

Nonna Mercato has opened reservations for its upcoming dinner service

Reservations for Nonna Mercato’s “Summer Nights” dinner series will open May 29, with the seasonal experience set to run from June 19 through Aug. 29. The dinner series—like its previous iterations—will take place every Friday and Saturday from 5:30PM to 9PM.

According to the announcement, the experience is inspired by the culinary traditions of Sicilia, Campania, Puglia, and Calabria, with dishes focused on simplicity, seasonality, and high-quality ingredients sourced from small farmers and producers across Italy and California.

Already with a location at 3801 Lakewood Blvd., California Fish Grill has opened its 2,200-square-foot location at Bixby Village. The fast-casual chain is known for partnering with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, a move that keeps sustainability front and center. The menu leans on made-to-order plates—grilled fish, hearty bowls, tacos, and salads—while emphasizing transparency in sourcing and a no-fuss approach to eco-conscious dining.

After opening their new Santa Ana location, Luz Torres of OBRA HandBakery has shared that they will be renovating their Long Beach space.

“We really love this location, and we’re continuing to invest in it and improve it,” Luz said. “We’re also getting a brand new hot display arriving next week, and the store is getting a really nice refresh and upgrade overall.”

They’ve also launched a new trio of sandwiches on their menu.

Long Beach’s OG delivery service—which started with owner Robb Smith pedaling around the city for deliveries and now acts as a direct alternative to corporatized delivery operations—received recognition from the County for its services.

“Supervisor Janice Hahn, thank you for recognizing our seven-year anniversary,” Robb shared on social media. “Andy Perez, your mentorship and friendship have been instrumental in our journey; I’m optimistic about the future of business in Long Beach and Los Angeles, and I’m proud to be part of it.”

ICYMI: Inside Bacari’s first Long Beach location, opening June 1

To say the new Bacari location in Long Beach is pretty is an understatement—and I have your first look at the interior.

Eschewing any sense of minimalism, Bacari’s Long Beach location reads less like a clean, contemporary restaurant buildout and more like a transportive, layered environment. Think Mediterranean villa meets an old-world European brasserie meets a romantic lounge. It carries a deliberate sense of age and warmth, as if the space has existed for decades rather than being newly introduced to Naples.

It opens June 1.

ICYMI: Behind Bixby Provisions, the abrupt rebrand of much-loved Wood & Salt

The shock of Wood & Salt shuttering back in April was only compounded when, within weeks, Bixby Provisions had come to replace the space.

For years, the promise of restaurants like Wood & Salt sat in a sweet spot that many neighborhoods covet: elevated enough for a date night but approachable enough to become part of a regular routine. A place where patrons might celebrate an anniversary one month and casually stop in for dinner the next.

But increasingly, operators say that the very middle ground that defined the space is becoming harder to sustain. For owner Björn Risse, the decision was less about cutting labor or stripping down the operation and more about confronting what he saw changing before his eyes: customers themselves.

ICYMI: Burgers, beach, beers: Grill ‘Em All is a Long Beach pearl

There is so much to love about Grill ‘Em All. The story is one of resilience and genuine hard-work in a region filled with dreamers and stars. The evolution of the space is worthy of its own show. And the burgers? Monstrous, masterful creations that remain stellar in a city saturated with quality burgers.
