Long Beach Transit’s much-loved water taxis—the AquaLink and the AquaBus— return to the shores of our city come Memorial Day.
What are Long Beach Transit’s water taxis and what services does they provide?
Long Beach Transit’s water taxi system consists of two vessels: The AquaBus (the small one) and the AquaLink (the big one). Check their schedules here.
The AquaBus service takes you around Rainbow Harbor for only one buck each way. Yup: one dollar. You can board the AquaBus at the following places, with services seven days a week from 11:15AM to 6:45PM, at these various stops:
- Aquarium of the Pacific, Dock 4
- Shoreline Village, Dock 9
- Queen Mary
And for only $5 each way, you can take the (admittedly much cooler) 40-minute trip aboard the AquaLink from Downtown Long Beach to Alamitos Bay, witnessing the entire expanse of our coastline.
Even better? You can eat and drink aboard the AquaLink—and yes, that includes alcohol as they sell Tito’s, Bacardi, Jack Daniel’s, and Cazadores for $10, a bloody mary or margarita for $12, and various wines and champagnes at varying prices. On top of this, there are little snacks and non-alcoholic beverages you can enjoy as well.
You can board the AquaLink at any of these places seven days a week from 11:30AM to 9:15PM:

- Alamitos Bay Landing, Berth 3
The AquaBus carries a maximum of 35 passengers (with limited availability for strollers, bikes, and wheelchairs) while the AquaLink can carry up to 70 people. Each are on a first-come, first-board basis.
