Oh yes, Long Beach Food Scene Week 2024 is upon us come Aug. 9 through Aug. 18. The ten-day celebration of our city’s food culture will feature the city’s best restaurants, as over 60 spaces have confirmed their participation for the second year of the annual event.
Who is participating in Long Beach Food Scene Week 2024 and what are they offering?
Unlike most food or restaurant weeks, Long Beach Food Scene Week isn’t solely about discounts. Sure, we have plenty of places offering deals on items their patrons love—but this is mostly about providing things that are otherwise entirely new, have never been available, or are rarely on the menu.
For example, we have multiple collaborations (a bulgogi pizza from Sura and The 4th Horseman). Tons of prix fixe menus (from AmmatolĂ and Selva to Michael’s on Naples and Marlena). Unique new offerings (like a Cambodian prohok-inspired wing sauce from Shlap Muan). New desserts (like flan de papailto rojo from Los Reyes del Taco Sabroso or Nutella ensaymadas from Gemmae Bake Shop). The return of fan favorites (like The Social List bringing back their famed Cuban sandwich, the Media Noche). Even Panxa brought out a special box of hatch chiles from the farm they use in New Mexico before they host their annual hatch chile community roast on Sept. 14 and 15.
Also, are you interested in prizes like whiskey-tasting dinner tickets, gift cards, and other giveaways? Join my food group on Facebook, the Long Beach Food Scene, and share your LBFSW experiences throughout the celebration. You’ll automatically be entered to win.
Look for a highlights list from me this week but until then… There’s a lot of awesomeness, so click on the participant to visit their listing and see their menu. (Some restaurants are still working on their menus, but as soon as I have them, they’ll be updated!).

Wait—so what exactly is Long Beach Food Scene Week?
Launched last year, Long Beach Food Scene Week is a ten-day, joyful celebration of our city’s rich and diverse culinary scene, honoring the resilience and creativity of the hospitality industry while also highlighting the many great restaurants throughout the city.
During Long Beach Food Scene Week, diners will have the opportunity to experience our city’s top restaurants in ways they aren’t able to on the regular: Some restaurants will use the week to flex and experiment, testing out new dishes; some will come with an entirely new prix fixe menu; some might simply offer discounts on already-loved items. The major point is to drive diners toward these spaces during the month—August—where restaurants often see their lowest sales.
