Hot Wheels to bring life-size cars & 45-foot stunt loop to Long Beach Arena

Share

For generations, Hot Wheels cars have flown off couches. Careened across kitchen floors. And raced through the brand’s famed orange plastic loops, giving kids and adults alike dreams of becoming professional speed racers. Come March of next year, Long Beach Arena will host a considerably louder version of that childhood ritual. And with it, bring full-size cars, professional stunt drivers, and a 45-foot-tall loop.

The Hot Wheels Stunt Show is coming to Long Beach for three performances on March 26 and 27, 2027, as part of its first United States tour. Produced by Family Entertainment Live in collaboration with Mattel, the arena show follows a European run that drew sold-out crowds.

What exactly is the Hot Wheels Stunt Show?

And the premise is pretty straightforward: Take the cars kids have spent decades imagining behind the wheel of, build them at full scale, and let professional drivers put them through a succession of jumps, drifts, and other feats.

The 15-vehicle lineup includes life-size versions of Hot Wheels favorites GT Scorcher, Rodger Dodger, and Bone Shaker. Joining them will be motorbikes, quads, an RZR, and custom stunt vehicles, with performances ranging from ramp jumps to driving on two wheels. The centerpiece is the new Super Loop, a towering, 45-foot-tall structure that takes one of the brand’s most recognizable playroom features into the arena.

“American fans have grown up with Hot Wheels, and there’s nothing quite like seeing those classic cars you know from the orange track come to life at full size, pulling off real stunts just feet in front of you,” said Ken Hudgens, CEO of Family Entertainment Live.

What has been said about the European leg of the show—and what that means for the Hot Wheels Stunt Show in Long Beach…

So what does that actually feel like from the seats? Reviews of the European production describe an arena filled with roaring engines. Crowd countdowns. And hosts who make the audience part of the performance. At the show’s September 2025 world premiere in Aberdeen, Scotland, the crowd became a “training crew,” cheering drivers through 10 challenges toward the loop finale.

The appeal extends beyond watching a recognizable toy car take a victory lap. That Aberdeen review described a driver climbing onto the roof of a car while it continued spinning, another maneuver involving a car balanced on two wheels with the driver’s hand touching the floor, and riders standing on moving motorcycles. Reviewing the March 2026 production at Belgium’s AFAS Dome, entertainment site BeyondGaming highlighted three cars traveling on two wheels, airborne motorcycle and quad stunts, and precisely choreographed passes that sent vehicles skimming past one another.

One practical detail for parents: The sound is part of the experience. Both European reviewers emphasized the volume, and the Press and Journal specifically advised bringing ear defenders for children. For families planning their first arena stunt show, hearing protection belongs on the packing list alongside the excitement of finally seeing those little die-cast cars come to life.

How do I get tickets to the Hot Wheels Stunt Show in Long Beach?

Organizers describe the show as a two-hour experience built for multiple generations: spectacle for the kids. A hefty dose of toy-box nostalgia for the adults. And plenty of shared moments to wonder how, exactly, a driver will pull off the next maneuver.

For those who want a closer look at the machines before they hit the arena floor, a Preshow Party will offer opportunities to see the vehicles up close, collect driver autographs, take photos, and participate in interactive Hot Wheels activities. Details about access are available through the show’s website.

The Long Beach performances are scheduled for:

  • Friday, March 26, 2027: 7PM
  • Saturday, March 27, 2027: Noon
  • Saturday, March 27, 2027: 7PM
