Grill ‘Em All owner Matt Chernus has announced that he hopes his Bayshore concession stand location near the south end of Horny Corner—their first in Long Beach—will open Aug. 1—that is, if everything goes as planned.
“The August 1 date is just an estimate—not an official opening date,” Chernus said. “Don’t believe everything you read,” he added, laughing.
Part of the massive upgrades to concession offerings along the shoreline of Long Beach, it follows the opening of Long Beach’s first, on-the-sand, full-time eatery, Saltwater Deck, which opened at Junipero Beach in 2021.
The other two spots—Granada Beach and the $9M Alamitos Beach space—have yet to open though it has long been known that Gaucho Grill will open three concepts at the Alamitos space, including a space with a full bar, and the imported-from-Croatia Mediterranean concept Monty’s Beach will open at Granada.
Grill ‘Em All has built a cult-like following with its metal-inspired, “death to all false burger” mantra as it nears a decade of serving the Alhambra community. This follow its days as a food truck, where Grill ‘Em All blew up nationally after being featured on the Food Network’s “Food Truck Race” in 2010.
They proudly vocalize how they “specializes in rocking the tastebuds with a raging collection of gnarly burgs, loaded fries and the best craft beers known to man” while offering a “heavy metal club house made for our Grill Em All Ghouls to be able to smash great food, pound some drinks and let loose seven days a week”
What do these burgers consist of, precisely?
Half-pound patties that range from being doused in chimichurri, garlic aioli, blue cheese, and fried onions—like the “Ozzy Osbourne” burger—to being lathered in peanut butter, strawberry jam, bacon, and sriracha—dubbed the “Dee Snyder” burger.
Though construction work has moved forward on both the Granada and Alamitos Beach spaces, it unclear when each space will formally open.
