Angel’s Share in Belmont Shore has gone into a full dive, using Tim Burton’s classic “Beetlejuice” for its Halloween revamp. The striped sandworm creatures synonymous with Beetlejuice weave in and out of walls and greet customers at the entrance, while purple and green lighting saturates the space inside and out.
It is a gleefully strange makeover for the neighborhood whiskey lounge—and lead bar manager Rachel Zimmerman is carrying that same spirit into the glass.
“My goal with these drinks was first to make them affordable and thereby accessible for anyone to come and enjoy,” Rachel said. “My inspiration for the menu came from wanting to evoke that inner child nostalgia that comes with watching the movie. Some drinks mimic the flavor profiles of some Halloween candies. I also play with color a lot to keep the aesthetics whimsical.”

Angel’s Share has been evolving since day one of its arrival in the Shore…
That mix of accessibility and playfulness reflects how Angel’s Share has evolved.
Founded by Jack Walls and his wife, Amy Wu, the lounge emerged in 2024 from the former Tap House space, rapidly transforming it and introducing a whiskey-focused identity to 2nd Street. Its spirit has since shifted: a broader cocktail program, more substantial happy hour offerings, and food ranging from chicken wings to mussels have made room for both spirits enthusiasts and neighbors simply seeking a drink and something to eat.
Rachel has been central to that evolution, helping turn a bar known for its whiskey collection into a place where seasonal cocktails deserve their own attention. Last year’s first full Christmas extravaganza made that shift especially visible: A giant ornament at the entrance, trees, tinsel, and lights accompanied a sprawling holiday drinks menu. Angel’s Share had offered holiday cocktails before, but the 2025 makeover took the celebration throughout the space.
That Christmas takeover will return for 2026. For now, however, the sandworms have the floor—and Rachel’s candy-inspired flavors and whimsical colors give Belmont Shore a reason to revisit a childhood favorite with a decidedly grown-up drink in hand.
Angel’s Share is located at 5110 E. 2nd St. in Belmont Shore.
