The Queen Mary’s Spooktacular Bazaar, set to take place on the first Friday the 13th of the year next week, will be on helluva haven for fanatics of the frightening. Not only will they be screening both “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and the creepily uncanny “Labirynth,” they’ll have a market with local, spooky vendors offering unique and eerie items.
So what are all the details behind The Queen Mary’s Spooktacular Bazaar?
Firstly, there’s the Bazaar, which opens at 5PM on Friday, Sept. 13. Whether you’re looking for Halloween decor, ghoulish knick-knacks, or some fiendishly grim accessories, The Queen Mary’s vendors “have something for everyone,” according to Steve Caloca, the general manager for Evolution Hospitality.
Secondly, there’s the double-feature, with “Nightmare Before Christmas” screening at 7PM and “Labyrinth” showing at 9PM.
On top of all this, other happenings include:
- A “Dark Harbor Experience” that will allow you to learn more about the return of the beloved horror event while also getting the chance to meet and take a photo with characters.
- Enjoy live music that will “set the perfect eerie atmosphere as you browse and shop.”
- Pop-up food vendors that spand sweet to savory.
Tickets are $10. Or, if you want comfort, you can upgrade to their “Ultimate Movie Package” for $250. It includes a couch for up to four people, four event tickets, a Queen Mary blanket, movie snacks, a bottle of Queen Mary Champagne or four sodas “and a Spooktacular surprise,” Caloca said.
The Queen Mary has full dived back into its creepy, paranormal history
With the ship returning to financial success thanks to an onslaught of quality music festivals and an equal onslaught of guests wanting to stay aboard the ship, The Queen Mary is having multiple renaissances. And that definitely includes a return to the ship’s haunted roots.
They brought back the paranormal tours last year. Paying off their previously popular paranormal tours, the ship’s “Grey Ghost Project” experience decides to take it to the next level for ghost hunter nerds across the country.  Using the latest tools of the trade, the project uses a combination of scientific methods to gather data and documentation for evidence of the supernatural.
The Queen hosted an Edgar Allan Poe cocktail and history party.
“The Haunting of the Queen Mary” finally made it to theaters and television screens.
And we have the aforementioned return of Dark Harbor, one of the most beloved horror events in SoCal.
The Queen Mary is back in her darkest, most macabre form—and we’re here for it.
