‘Tea Time Wolf’ cements Wicked Wolf as one of Long Beach’s most zero proof-friendly spaces

The Wicked Wolf in Wrigley is easily one of the city’s best spaces for cocktails. But with it’s newly expanded hours into the daytime as a tea house, it cements an ideal that it has always held since day one. Adults should also have a space for them that isn’t solely about alcohol consumption.

And that is exactly what Tea Time Wolf, opening on Oct. 31 (and thereafter from 8AM to 4PM Tuesdays through Saturdays), is all about.

So what, exactly, is Tea Time Wolf?

It seamlessly converts The Wicked Wolf into a 21-and-over-only, daytime tea house and café. Think of the maturity of a bar but the ability to order some coffee or tea while working or simply unwinding.

“We’re thrilled to bring a new dimension to The Wicked Wolf,” says owner-operator Thea Mercouffer. “Tea Time Wolf is designed to be a welcoming place, whether grabbing a quick coffee on your way to work or settling in with coworkers for a lunchtime meeting. It’s a space where people can connect, collaborate, or relax in a cozy, fairy tale setting.”

Playing with the idea of “the third place”—a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg that refers to the social space outside work and home that is essential for healthy mindsets—is an expansion of what The Wicked Wolf has always embraced. And that is that a bar can be more than a bar. It can be a space that caters to all types of adults, including those who don’t drink.

So what will be offered during these tea house hours at The Wicked Wolf?

Tea Time Wolf’s menu will feature an array of pretty rad offerings, from specialty teas from around the globe to coffee to chai and matcha to house-made mocktails. And yes, a small offering of foods will be on hand, including fresh soups and salads, artisanal pastries, and sandwiches.

“We’re curating a thoughtful menu that will evolve along with customer feedback,” said Maria Abrahamian, the manager of Tea Time Wolf. “Our goal is to create a welcoming space that pairs the whimsical décor with light, flavorful fare. It’s going to be the perfect place for a casual meetup or a day of remote work.”

Well then, a spot of tea for me.
