Long Beach Food Scene: Last Call—or Long Beach Last Call, if you wanna keep it simple—will return March 1 and run through March 10 in 2026, with a series of events each day celebrating the city’s rich bar culture, community, and its workers. And it is all thanks to the support of Visit Long Beach.
From industry-only and unlimited tastings events to cocktail contests and proper Irish coffee lessons, Long Beach Last Call will continue to be the premiere event celebrating Long Beach’s bar and cocktail culture. And it’s all in a time when the support of our hospitality industry is needed more than ever.

What is Long Beach Last Call 2026?
After the success of my restaurant week, Long Beach Food Scene Week, bar owners and tenders rightfully asked: “What about a week for us?” So I decided to oblige and present Long Beach Last Call last year, a ten-day long celebration of Long Beach’s amazing bar culture, it’s even more amazing workers, and the industry that often goes without recognition as one of our city’s largest economic and social drivers.
And thousands of people proudly showed up. With the alcohol industry going through a roller-coaster of layoffs and rearrangements—from brands leaving distribution companies to brand representation shrinking nationwide—now is the time more than ever to support these incredible people.
This year is no different: March 1 through March 10 will be filled with events dedicated to Long Beach’s love of the drink. Events will span industry-only to public invites. Industry “pourformance” talent show at Que Sera. There will be an Irish coffee classes and a Split the G contest at The Auld Dubliner. An unlimited agave spirit tasting at Panxa. A Mijenta cocktail contest at Port City Tavern focused on women in the industry. A private industry appreciation party. A DTLB bar crawl.
It’s gonna be rad—just cementing all the final details.

Presented by Mijenta—a woman-owned and -operated tequileria out of Jalisco and headed by master distiller Ana María Romero—we decided to turn this year’s competition into an all-female event to honor and celebrate Women’s History Month. The participants? All women. The judges? All women. And the spirit being featured? Made for and by women.
So let’s give around of applause to the creative ladies of an industry that is often dominated by men.

Wednesday, Mar. 4: Chasing the Unicorn: A rare whiskey tasting at Angel’s Share

Angel Share’s “Unicorn of Whiskey Tasting” breaks open the most coveted parts of owner Jack Walls’s expansive whiskey collection.
“This is really about allowing the community to taste bottles that are practically impossible to find,” Jack said. “King of Kentucky bottles are extremely rare and reach as much as three thousand dollars on the secondary market, making single pours in premium bars run as much as $500 dollars, if you can even find it. Less than 600 bottles were produced. And Angel’s Share is the only bar in the region to receive an allocation… It’s just one of many bottles we plan on opening for this event.”
The Unicorn of Whiskey tasting is a private, one-night-only experience offering one-ounce pours of some of the most coveted bottles in the world, including:
- King of Kentucky
- Old Forester Birthday Bourbon
- Heaven Hill 90th Anniversary
- WhistlePig Boss Hog XII
- And additional rare, highly allocated selections.

Friday, Mar. 6: Long Beach Food Scene Meet-Up at Halo atop the Fairmont Breakers, 6PM – 10PM

Will all 90,000-plus members of the Long Beach Food Scene group show up? Not likely—but it’s a great reason to get together.
My Long Beach Food Scene group has some 90,000-plus members—and while I am quite sure not everyone will show up, I wanted to host an event during Last Call, my 10-day celebration of Long Beach’s bar culture, for them.
Luckily, the Fairmont Breakers has agreed to allow members to invade their rooftop space, Halo, while receiving access to their special, discounted menu that is typically reserved for their industry nights. Come, meet the biggest food lovers of Long Beach, and connect.
Saturday, Mar. 7: Exploring the Esoteric with Baby Gee

Baby Gee co-owner and head beverage magician Gianna Johns wants to lead you down the smaller paths that lead to the strange, off-beat, and outright esoteric part of the spirits world. Tickets and brand tastings coming soon.
Sunday, Mar. 8: A Proper Irish Coffee at The Auld Dubliner (presented by Tullamore D.E.W.)

Too many Americans think an Irish coffee is some type of Irish cream liqueur thrown into coffee—but you’re a wee bit misdirected.
Join us as we explore the proper Irish coffee at the city finest pub, The Auld Dubliner, with the Tullamore Dew brand ambassador on hand to not only teach you the knowledge as to how to make one of the finest warm cocktails on earth but you’ll be served two, maybe a shot or two, and walk home with some parting gifts. Following, we will have a “Split the G” competition, where drinkers can win prizes for taking a single gulp of Guinness from a Guinness glass and do their best to assure the top line of the beer matches with the center of the “G” on the glass.
Tickets to this event are $30 and there is a limited capacity. To purchase your ticket, click here.

Tuesday, Mar. 10: Industry appreciation party at Baby Gee Bar [invite only]; 5PM-7PM

This industry- and invite-only event will sign off Long Beach Last Call 2026 the way it should be signed off: thanking those in the industry who often do a thankless job. A major shout-out to Baby Gee owners Gianna Johns and Daniel Flores, who have hosted this party for both Last Call and Long Beach Food Scene Week three years in a row now.
