Long Beach Food Scene: Last Call—or Long Beach Last Call, if you wanna keep it simple—will return March 1 and run through March 10 in 2026, with a series of events each day celebrating the city’s rich bar culture, community, and its workers. And it is all thanks to the support of Visit Long Beach.
From industry-only and unlimited tastings events to cocktail contests and proper Irish coffee lessons, Long Beach Last Call will continue to be the premiere event celebrating Long Beach’s bar and cocktail culture. And it’s all in a time when the support of our hospitality industry is needed more than ever.

What is Long Beach Last Call 2026?
After the success of my restaurant week, Long Beach Food Scene Week, bar owners and tenders rightfully asked: “What about a week for us?” So I decided to oblige and present Long Beach Last Call last year, a ten-day long celebration of Long Beach’s amazing bar culture, it’s even more amazing workers, and the industry that often goes without recognition as one of our city’s largest economic and social drivers.
And thousands of people proudly showed up. With the alcohol industry going through a roller-coaster of layoffs and rearrangements—from brands leaving distribution companies to brand representation shrinking nationwide—now is the time more than ever to support these incredible people.
This year is no different: March 1 through March 10 will be filled with events dedicated to Long Beach’s love of the drink. Events will span industry-only to public invites. Industry “pourformance” talent show at Que Sera. There will be an Irish coffee classes and a Split the G contest at The Auld Dubliner. An unlimited agave spirit tasting at Panxa. A Mijenta cocktail contest at Port City Tavern focused on women in the industry. A private industry appreciation party. A DTLB bar crawl.
It’s gonna be rad—just cementing all the final details.

Wednesday, Mar. 4: Chasing the Unicorn: A rare whiskey tasting at Angel’s Share

Angel Share’s “Unicorn of Whiskey Tasting” breaks open the most coveted parts of owner Jack Walls’s expansive whiskey collection.
“This is really about allowing the community to taste bottles that are practically impossible to find,” Jack said. “King of Kentucky bottles are extremely rare and reach as much as three thousand dollars on the secondary market, making single pours in premium bars run as much as $500 dollars, if you can even find it. Less than 600 bottles were produced. And Angel’s Share is the only bar in the region to receive an allocation… It’s just one of many bottles we plan on opening for this event.”
The Unicorn of Whiskey tasting is a private, one-night-only experience offering one-ounce pours of some of the most coveted bottles in the world, including:
- King of Kentucky
- Old Forester Birthday Bourbon
- Heaven Hill 90th Anniversary
- WhistlePig Boss Hog XII
- And additional rare, highly allocated selections.

Thursday, Mar. 5: Balancing Beam: Learning How to Balance Flavors class at Selva (presented by Priximo), 3PM-5PM

Join Selva bar manager Mike Borowski and Chef Carlos Jurado on a journey to explore one of the key aspects of a solid cocktail: balance. Tasting ingredients on their own and learning to meld them, this educational experience will feature sips, bites, and, of course, balance.
“Guests will have individual ingredients in front of them to taste, and then will be served these cocktails,” Mike said. “They will be able to add modifiers—think salt or basil—to see the transition of those cocktails. Small bites from Chef Carlos will be served to further advance how combining flavors works to expand one’s culinary and cocktail experience.”
Guests will explore the history of and how to make:
- Margarita, or a daisy: super basic example of a tequila daisy “margarita” featuring Cuervo Traditional
- Mezcal daisy: Using lulo and smoked salt to show how you can swap out some lime juice and use another acidic ingredient featuring 400 Conejos Mezcal
- Whiskey smash-basil and berries: Shows how you can throw in fruit and herbs into something like whiskey and, using the same principles with previous cocktails being made, you get a totally different flavor that applies to featured whiskey, Tin Cup.

- Food: Farmer Fork Salad – Farmers Market-driven vegetables, simply composed and thoughtfully dressed.
Course Two – Choose One

- The rise, saturation, and demise of beverage pairing events
- Shifts in guest expectations and spending habits
- What “value” really means in today’s dining landscape
- How pairing events can evolve to remain relevant and exciting
“We’ve all seen beer pairing dinners boom—and then fade,” Ian said. “Rather than guess what our guests want next, we’d rather ask them directly. This is about transparency, dialogue, and building better experiences together.
